Pursue Your Dreams
Stop dreaming and start doing. Yes, it sounds simple and the truth is it actually is easy, but we keep giving ourselves excuses as to why we can't pursue our dreams right now. So many of my close friends and family always talk about doing these incredible things with their life, whether it's pursuing their dream career or traveling to a country they've never been, but they continue to put those dreams on the back burner. I realize most days most of us are all talk.
Sometimes it's hard to find confidence in yourself. Sometimes it's hard to grasp that you may actually be good at what you want to do. Sometimes it just takes hard work and determination. What's the one thing you always hear people complaining about? Their job. Yet it seems no one does anything but talk about changing their path.
The one thing I have done in 2017 has been most difficult. And if it wasn't for my significant other currently supporting me mentally and sometimes financially if needed, I wouldn't be able to do what I dreamed of doing. I quit my soul-sucking 9-5 to pursue what I've always been passionate about. I know not everyone has the moral support, but truth is, you should be able to do it on your own anyway.
I urge you all to write your list of goals you want to accomplish by the end of 2017. And each month I hope you're able to cross at least one thing off that will get you closer to your ultimate goal. Baby steps are still steps. I promise it worked for me. I'm 6 months into living that ultimate dream of mine and I'm so much closer than I was when I started. You won't regret putting those extra hours in your day toward a life you will love and a life you won't need a vacation from.
I did it. And I'm sad I didn't do it sooner. You don't want to waste your life working for someone else(unless that's your dream). We can all work for ourselves if we really tried. One great way to help yourself is to network and support your friends when they try to do something on their own. This will come back to you in a positive way when you start your own venture.
Go do it. You only have one life to live. Stop dreaming. Start doing.
