Surround yourself with Positive People

Don't feel bad walking away from negative people.  It's one thing to be rude and treat others poorly, but it's another to sit back and let someone's negativity destroy your soul.  Your joy is your own choice.  It's true, you can be a glass half full or a glass half empty person.  But don't let anyone tell you that other people can't influence how you perceive life.

I have always been more of a glass half full type of person, but lately, through my journey of inner peace and finding that God means more than what  church tells you, I have learned to see things in a more positive light.  However, I am easily influenced by people around me.

I realized for the last 4 years, I was surrounded by people who constantly talked poorly about our peers, found the negative in every situation and had overall bad aura.  I kept wondering what was wrong with me and why I was always so miserable, even though I was truly trying to give it my all.

This lifestyle and mindset threw me into a panic attack.  I know other lifestyle choices also caused the anxiety, but I feel that it could have been prevented had I had been surrounded by people that brought me up rather than pull me down.  I have made a conscious decision to try to only let people into my life that have a shining light.

Everyone has bad days, I'm not saying I remove someone if they have a moment of negativity.  I just know that those with auras who are consistently negative and the opposite of what I am striving to be is not the people I want in my life. I shine my own light their way when they are in my presence, but I do not seek them out.

My whole life has turned around because I changed the people I was hanging around. It just goes to show that you can make a positive impact on your mental health by finding positive people.
